Gangtok, Pelling, Namchi and Lachung live on tourism, and every season brings new hotels, homestays and cafes built on slopes where the rain hardly stops from May to September. Walls here need to look like the mountains and shed moisture; timber and stone are the local language, and tiles that read as stone fit in.
Axoli Tiles supplies Sikkim from Morbi through Siliguri in seven to nine days, through dealers in Siliguri, Rangpo and Gangtok and directly to hotel projects. Hill roads mean smaller trucks for the last stretch; tell us the site and we pack for it.
Designs that suit Sikkim
Slate, ledger stone and rough stone looks in matt and rustic finishes for reception walls, facades and retaining walls; warm wood-and-stone patchworks for lounges; and glossy whites that brighten compact hotel bathrooms in low mountain light.
