Wall tiles in Rajkot, an hour from the Axoli factory

Rajkot is the nearest big city to Morbi and the trading centre for Saurashtra. It builds bungalows in Kalawad Road and Raiya Road, apartments along the 150 ft Ring Road, and the farmhouses, cafes and showrooms that a prosperous engineering town wants. Everyone here knows tiles; what they come to Axoli for is the design range.

The factory is 65 km away. Rajkot dealers and builders collect or get same-day delivery, and architects bring clients to the showroom to choose from the tiles themselves rather than a catalogue.

Designs that suit Rajkot

Stone and brick looks for bungalow elevations and compound walls in a dry, sunny climate; geometric and picket patterns for living room walls; Moroccan designs for cafes; glossy whites for kitchens; and the devotional designs that go into every Saurashtra home.
